The Long Road To Master's
As a single mom, Katie Taylor juggled a job and college classes. Unfortunately, the stress became too much and her grades suffered. She was living in a one bedroom apartment while working at Pizza Hut and knew she needed more. Her children now 13 and 7 became her motivation to continue to work towards her goals.

Katie came to work for CAPCIL in July of 2012. She was hired as a Classroom Assistant in our Head Start program. She learned that they offered Tuition Assistance for staff and decided to take advantage of the financial help to get back into school and focus on increasing her GPA. Focusing on one class at a time she was able to raise her GPA enough that Financial Aid also helped cover her classes. She continued her classes over the last 9 years. Her hardwork and dedication has paid off as she prepares to graduate with her Master's Degree in August of 2023.
First up though, starting her internship which means parting ways with CAPCIL. Katie will be greatly missed but the staff are very excited for her new endeavor. During her time at CAPCIL, she has held many different positions working her way up to a Lead Teacher. " I enjoyed the connections I built with my co-workers, my students and their families the most." said Taylor
Following graduation she would like to open her own clinic (local to Clinton) as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She is excited to continue to help people and make the transition to working with adults.
